It still amazes and humbles me that I’ve been documenting weddings for over 10 years and at some of the nicest venues the North East has to offer such as Charlton Hall, Newton Hall, Shotton Grange and a host of other beautiful wedding venues.

On your wedding I’m not your photographer, I’m Matthew, one of the family, I just happen to have the expensive gear.

You’ll find me right in the action, at close quarters. I can be found laughing with guests, often I’m the one making people laugh. I believe in documenting your story from within which gives the viewer of the final images a sense they were there feeling the atmosphere, light, emotion and interactions of your wedding day.

Being up close and personal allows guests to feel comfortable which in turn allows me to document moments that I wouldn’t otherwise be able to capture. This is why laughing a lot throughout the day and chatting to guests is so important to my photography, and not having guests worrying about where I am being a fly on the wall.
